Old looking Asian wood tray

    This looks like it has some age to it, the silver hanger looks like it was added later.

    Anyone know what this is or era ?

    I'm exhausted from our two day open house.
    Can not think of the name of the wood burned designs. Pyro something.

    Anyway, it appears your design is burned in and then painted. I think this is later than the pyro what ever of the 1920s. Maybe 40s with that crackled varnish paint.

    Sorry, I'm not clearer with my answer. Hope someone will clarify better for you.

    After all that, pyro is fine.;) Pyrography is the word you're looking for.:)

    Agree with the above and think it probably a Western craft item rather than Asian in origin.

    Our town holds an annual open house on Thanksgiving weekend. Have spent the last two weeks decorating and making the store look festive. Then have to work two days 10am to 9pm. Well worth it, but absolutely no brain left, and this old body does not hold up as well as it used to.
