image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I'm not that well educated on pottery. I just buy what I like. This caught my eye rather quickly. It appears to heavy glazed, dripped glazed? Are there hints of flambé on this piece? This vase is marked under neath the base but I can't make out what it reads, other than a possible A3 RY?

Can you post a pic of the whole bottom (rim and base)? Drip glaze, probably relatively new and maybe made somewhere in southeast Asia, but the base may tell us more. How tall is it?

This vase is 16" tall and about 9" in diameter. image.jpg

That's a big 'un. I think that those are productions marks rather than a factory logo, etc. Buff coloured clay. I'm leaning towards Asian (China).

I'm still learning about marks. What's the difference between production marks and factory marks and what does that mean?

Pretty much what you just said, was all in Chinese. Is this just your run of the milk vase or something else a little higher in standard?

Not all marks will give you a clue to the maker. Personally, I feel this is a run of the mill vase, but again, it's a chunk bigger than most. The numbers and letters on yours might point to size and shape. You can see that they are not stamped or impressed, but scratched on the surface. Sometimes you will see painted numbers on the base.
