ID on mark on Brass/Bronze Vessel w/ Asian Motif & Lettering on side

I'm trying to ID the mark on this large brass or bronze vessel - maybe a planter? If has a foot and 2 handles, with a textured surface on the side. Raised letters are on one side, with a figural scene on the opposite side. The mark on the underside is well defined and easy to read. Google image search didn't come up with a match. I'm not sure what the correct orientation is, so I've included pics showing it both ways. The vessel weighs just over 9 pounds and is 10 inches in diameter, measured to the outside edge of the rim. Possibly Japanese,but it's sideways.

I think it’s a hibachi, maybe a search for signed bronze hibachi will bring up a match. I’d do it but I’m on my phone and I just get annoyed with google on the phone.
