Hello Everyone, When I was young, and lived in England (but now in Western Australia), that was the polite, if formal, form of greeting but I wonder how many use it now. Anyway, apt, I thought, for a forum devoted to the artefacts of bygone ages. Frankly, we find very few antique items of interest in this isolated part of the world, which is very frustrating. Unfortunately, the antiques auctions are mediocre and anything of remotely above-average quality is also prohibitively expensive. So we add only a few items to our collection each year; one which is an eclectic mix of odds and ends, ranging from porcelain to metalware. Amongst this assemblage are a number of items for which I'd like to learn more - and I see this is the place to be: a very lively and informed company of kindred spirits, many of whom must themselves have acquired a lustrous patina through handling so many wonderful objet d'art. In turn, perhaps I might help others in their quest for information and identification - I look forward to doing so!
Welcome MT. I can certainly agree the forum is VERY lively. Wait until they tempt you into the closet with a UV light
