Featured Jade Dragon

Any info on the Figure would be very appreciated
It is a Jade ,I think, Figure of a Dragon.
It is 21 inches Long and 15 inches High.
It weighs about 20lbs.
Looking for it's age or origin

That is awesome ! Can we see the bottom of the feet ?

 

Appears modern to me. The eyes look died red. Still a cool item though!

 

Also another clue it has grind marks on it. Under the feet and in between the area on its shoulder.

 

It does not look like natural stone to me. Perhaps glass, or resin. Just looking at the muzzle, I don't think natural jade would have that perfectly symmetrical shading. And the serrated shapes around the eyes are not a natural form.

 

The signature "DC" implies a modern piece, I think.

 

DC is the mark written on the item to price it at the store I purchased it from

 

What do the grind marks indicate

 

that it was made recently in a factory by guys with power tools......

I don't see real jade there either....IMO

 

As @2manybooks said, not jade, not carved, molded, looks like glass but marks on feet suggest resin... could be resin with a glassy lacquer coating, leaning toward glass with slight reservations. Definitely not jade.

 

First impression to me was I felt like I was looking at some sort of highly polished dense glass......it’s lovely, but that was my first thought.....

 

The two marks on his privates look like some artificial material too.

He looks like molded resin to me.
I won't suggest the hot pin test, cause I don't wanna get kicked off this forum for blasphemy

 

For some added help It is translucent and the White part sounds to be hollow

 

Is it cold to the touch or warm? Do you know anyone with a gem tester?

 

Two more things that point to synthetic material.
Another rough mark on its head, and there is no way that natural stone has a lobed colour graduation from celadon to cream like this:
