What would this be called? a cookie jar? and also, any idea what it's made of? from the pictures. The application on the outside is very unusual and it measures 6-1/2"H x 8-1/2W approximately. It doesn't have any markings on it. jar1.jpg jar2.jpg

Looks like resin to me. Try sticking a hot pin into the bottom. If it is resin it will go in.

I think it's a yellow glazed ceramic. The texture is made using a sort of clay mincer, useful for doing hair. It's a lidded crock/jar to be used for storing whatever you like.

The color and glaze remind me of some confit pots but with all that spaghetti clay maybe a one off? Sort of a casserole or bean pot in shape?

Finally made time to get back in the forum, sorry. I hadn't really payed attention to the pictures I had posted till I started reading the responses, the lighting threw the colors way off, it is more an orange color, that is glaze and clay or earthenware. And thanks all around. jara.jpg jara.jpg jarb.jpg jara.jpg jarb.jpg
