This was a surprise from a table lot. I have several more items I need info about and will be listing them in separate threads. It was a good auction but when they boxed things up, they weren't careful enough. I lost several good pieces to carelessness.

    Anyway, thanks for any help!

that may be Meissen.....but if it's an ink well it was never used & I could see it being a holy mess !

Interesting... I have no idea what it is, but would like to know, too.

My first thought was perfume bottle but it wouldn't be a tight seal to prevent evaporation of the perfume.

Maybe it had cork at one time that long disintegrated . I thought perfume as well.

There isn't enough room for a layer of cork. It could have been very thin, I guess.

I guess that is where pieces like my Halcyon Days perfume bottle was inspired.

Very nice! I had thought yours was a goat, from the angle at which I was viewing it. Dog was my second thought. :)

Of course, a perfume bottle shaped like a goat would not be very enticing.

My gold mounted Chelsea one of two cavorting dolphins sold back in the nineties for many thousands of pounds, so six bills, while quite a bit, ain't the sky!

I thought it might be a goat first too.
