Friend of mine - an older gentleman - was hoping I could help him identify and possibly appraise the chair pictured. Found in Southeast AL. I am going to eventually set him up and teach him to use these forums but for now I just appreciate any info you all can provide.

Local antique dealer thinks 1920-1930 American parlor chair, but I am not able to fine a chair with the curved "Canes" that these gave. image.jpg

Id guess 1870s-80s ,part of a parlor set. Lovely chair but unfortunately not very popular right now.

I, also would go with a late 19th century date. Maybe not quite as early as 1870 but circa 1890.

Wow, thank you for the feedback! He got the pair for 40 bucks, what would you reckon we sell it for? Looking for a pretty quick sale.

Unfortunately not worth a lot. Probably not much more than you paid in most markets. Out of fashion right now and a tough sell.
