This certainly looks to be a painting, likely paper attached to canvas to add stability and prevent future damage. I really like this work, it's wonderful. I am an amateur art collector and I think you did well.

and Friedrich Heimerdinger (1817 Altona - 1882 Hamburg) was quite a well known artist, with a few sales at major auction houses. Subject is everything with this era, an artist can have one painting sell for $50,000 and another for $500 at the same time. Children and animals usually do well, portraits not so much.

Thank you! Well this is for sure painting?
    I sent my friend it's photos, she thinks it's a printed .

By the way the picture seems to be varnished. Canvas in appearance old darkened. on the sides more light. when that long ago the painting was on the stretcher.

Well, I also think that maybe it's a painting.

By the way there are many small details? if it is painting then it is pretty thin)).

    the paint was ground.

Well, given my experience (I do not profess to be an expert) your painting would certainly be desirable to the market and likely could achieve a good sum at auction. I believe someone missed the boat on that signature when evaluating it, and as a result you got a real bargain!

Clearly, thanks. on another site found information about 30 sales.

But the prices are hidden. And for full information they want too much money))

Well, the average price for his paintings is about 1-4 thousand dollars, as I understood.

At us in Russia for such painting will give no more than 500-1000 dollars now as I think))

For the one who was curious about the artist's other works, here's one.
