Arnova number X

    I've come across some pieces in porcelain who look nice and they are marked with ARNOVA followed by a number.

    The net doesn't tell me much about this company, no wikipedia site.

    I assume it was mass-produced porcelain. Which country? Any interesting details on this company?

    Let's wait for the potties, then. The ones I found were described as US. Chalkware is an American term, but what is in a name....

    Typical seems to be a signature always followed by a number.

    And a couple I saw also had Depose marked on them.

    It may be an American term, but chalkware was made in many countries.

    I have a 30" piece, depicting "The Rape of Europa". It is marked Arnova 672 with a slash through the '7', which suggests to me it is of European origin.
