Featured Old Italian vase signed

I picked this up today, haven't been able to find what it reads, looks like ASSTEL but no luck.
Any help on this vase ?

In the mean time, I wonder whether the ASS.... is actually Assisi?

The wine pitcher (Brocca in Italian) is indeed marked “Assisi”, however it most likely was not made in Assisi but rather was simply sold there as a souvenir. It is kind of like all those little metal copies of the statue of Liberty made in China and sold in New York to tourist. The maker is not known but was most likely a minor potter living in, or near, Deruta.
This is an older example probably dating to the early 1950’s. It is decorated in an early renaissance motif known as Cartocchio (Gothic Floral). The technique of scratching a design in the clay was popular in the 14th century and revived in the early 20th century.
