This vase is about 10 inches tall, thick walled, with a nice ring to the glass. Any thoughts about maker, age, or good key words? Thank you. opal1.JPG

I'll be curious to see what the glass experts will say, but Fry came to mind.

Wouldn't this be called clam broth?

    Hi,
It is clam broth but Fry used in the 1916s. They had the most wonderful baking pans with that coloring. I had one with original label and never used.
I had a wonderful cat that never broke anything until he jumped up to the top
of the display cabinet and mistakenly grabbed the edge of the pan and pulled it down.:oops::oops: Luckily he was not hurt just shaken.

I would have shaken him too.

I also had thought maybe Fry, but did not find anything shaped like this. The glass has a sort of blue/white glow in the light which I do not associate with clambroth. Would it be correct to call this clambroth, or maybe opalescent clambroth?

    Reminds me of Fry too.
I have one Fry item here that I think is a custard cup, but not sure which size.
BTW-nice photos. these can be hard to take pics of (at least for me).

Couldn't it also be called opaline?

I'm afraid that unless you can find what the maker called it, naming it Opaline or Opaloid or Clambroth is going to be an exercise in frustration. It closely resembles Fry's Foval, but unless proof that Fry made it appears, we might only say "like Fry's Foval." If I remember correctly, Fry called it "Fry's OVen And Lamp" glass, or some such. It was heat resistant.
