    Hi People,

I joined this forum in 2018 and then got distracted but am back. I have been following the posts off and on and always enjoy them. My new knowledge challenge is this small ferocious Foo dog or lion? I think he is brass. He is quite heavy for his size. No marks anywhere. I cleaned him gently with a little oil but left the verdigris around his mouth. Hopefully an indicator of age? He stands 3 inches high and is weirdly 3 inches long. Any thoughts welcome. It is a Qilin (or Kirin in Japanese), a mythical animal. It is brass, and looks relatively new to me. The verdigris could be the result of damp, not age.;)

Qilins are associated with sages. They also know if someone is guilty of a crime or innocent.

Thank you very much for that. Back to the Lotto tickets. I didn't think of it at the time of posting but I have a much larger mythical creature as well, very similar, in pottery. Now I know about him too:)
