Anyone Rocognize This Military Patch.

This came with a card from the United States Atlantic Fleet Air Force dated 1/25/46 on the card is the rank of ARM 3/c and organization VT-4 saying the person finished night vision training. Also a book from the U.S.S Tarawa (cv-40) which says on the cover keep this booklet with you while onboard and a graduation program from the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis Tenn. on September 30 1944. The name on the cards matches someone listed as graduating in the class R-48. The patch is 5" across.

 

It's possible there were only a few of these.

 

Can you tell me why? Realize I know nothing about military patches. I would think they would be pretty well documented

 

Possibly someone dreamed it up and had it made in Japan.
There are many thousands that exist with all kids of designs.
This group may have been a one off and closed out or absorbed onto another.

 

And I thought this would be an easy one Does the class he was in in the graduation program mean anything?
