Retired EE professor in CO buys and restores antique and vintage washing machines. Saw a “Steve Hartman” bit about the man on CBS evening news. I’m betting they’ll run it again on the “Sunday Morning” program, and maybe it’ll be on the CBS website. He built two warehouses to hold his collection. He restores them so they work and look like they did when new, spending 10 hours a day working on the machines. I was very favorably impressed by the man, his collection, and his understanding wife. Go hoarders!

I like watching Steve Hartman too.
He does a lot of heartwarming stories... there was one about a racehorse that was sweet to see.

I’ll take them, what’s another couple of warehouses? We’ve already got countless museums here in DC but WTH, I can see enough of the tourists visiting the “Washing Machine Museum of Washing-ton DC” to pay the rent! Might even do as well as the Potato Museum. Of course I’d turn some of the really interesting machines with visible workings into coin-operated exhibits to help pay the utilities etc.
