Painting help?

HI,

I have searched most phrases I can think of trying to ID this painting and have come up with nothing. I do not see any kind of signatures, anyone know anything about it?

Is it on canvas? We had one similar scroll painting on canvas, different scene.

 

It's up for sale through an online auction, I can't inspect in person until the 10th of January. I'm assuming it is right now. Wondering time-frame, value, etc. or just anything about it in general.

 

There’s a lot of unknowns, you will have to check it out, but maybe someone here can give you some thoughts.

 

It appears to be a Classical (Roman) scene of a courting couple done in the late Victorian era. A popular subject for Pre-Raphaelite painters.

I found a web-site and I'm assuming this was just used as reference for a paper "article" written for a school project. I don't think it is at all true, but is the only reference I saw to the painting, using the Google images search engine.

What do the sellers say about it? Have you contacted them with some questions?
