This is another piece that I would love to have your input in regards to the style/period. I have done nothing with it except holding and admiring (dust/dirt evidence). Nail screw from underside.JPG Underneath from side.JPG Underneath leafs extended.JPG stringer detail.JPG Hardware.JPG drop leafs exended.JPG I believe it has the original shellac. Excited to hear your feedback. TIA front view .JPG front view .JPG drop leafs exended.JPG front view .JPG

Coffee table height, so searching "drop leaf table" without specifying "coffee" will probably return mostly dining tables (which won't help you.)

The most similar I have found was that of an English Regency "sofa" table?

Id think a sofa table would be much higher. I think its just a 1940s coffee table.Albeit a nice one.

Duncan Phyfe style coffee tables - only a few came up in search.

Coffee tables were first mentioned in the Victorian era, but I believe they were taller and meant as serving tables.

Coffee tables as we know them, low and in front of the sofa really weren't part of the decorating style until the 1940s. More after WWII than before. At least that is what I was told by an older antique dealer.
