Pottery Vase Hand Signed USA is there a way to figure out who it was made by?

    Had this a while collecting dust and now it' time to find this vase a new home it stands about 7.5 inches tall did any of the companies hand sign and number their pottery or is this a studio/home piece?

    The painting and marking are both very sloppy. I suspect a hobbyist.

    It looks like California pottery. I'm surprised it says USA with a number. I don't think it is hobbyist.

    That' where my doubt about it being a homemade item kicked in, why would they sign it like that instead of just signing it? But the whole being sloppy makes it look like a homemade project

    Some of the California potteries did sell their molds.

    You'll have to investigate to see if you can find more in this color line.

    Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, still looking with no luck in the color but Im determined to find it..

    So, a previous owner didn't decide it would look good in brown and try to paint it?
