Buttons to identify.

    I picked these up in a coin and medal purchase the other day.
    Lots of military badges, medals and buttons, but these I don`t know.
    One is made in Birmingham UK,the other two in London, chromed brass, seems to be a person holding a lit signal torch with flames lapping around him/her.

    Yes that`s what I thought.
    They were produced by a military insignia maker.

    Buttons Ltd., Birmingham. In 1913 they had three works sites in Birmingham, Portland Street, Worstone Lane and Clissold Street making buttons, buckles and stampings. Some buttons were also made in London. . They also sold suitable dies and button making machinery.

    [​IMG] Trademarks included 'Three Domes' and crossed swords. Now a division of Francis Sumner Engineering Co.

    Hey davey, first ones I have ever seen...
    Could be for a lighthouse keeper... but need to research that.

    I had a grade school teacher who regularly used the saying the Observers use as their motto. Must have been 7 months into the school year when I realized she didn't mean 4-armed.
