Guan Yu Statue...Age, Material , and Value unknown.

    Picked up a nice Guan Yu statue on horse. Thought it might be ivory. When looked at closely you can see carving marks. Uploaded all my images to a folder called my antiques but files are too large when I try to add them here.
    Any ideas?

    Looks like Resin or similar. All the blue dots I’ve added, AA11A2C4-B2B9-4F3E-8C2D-BE91FF060CF5.jpeg indicate burst air bubbles.

    JMHO, I see a lot of burst bubbles. I suspect modern resin, but like I said, JMHO.

    I bet if u searched on line for a Guan Dao Halbred.....either as a child's toy or letter opener....or a carved wood miniature , you could find one that fits the statue...
