It shows purple when a strong light is held to it so I was thinking it is black amethyst glass I have never seen it with the white stuff (glass?) drizzled on it I have tried researching but I don't think I am using the right terms for the splattered paint or whatever on it I remember seeing an article while doing other research but I cannot find it now and don't remember what they called it Also, what would you call this footed, squatty shape? Any help is very much appreciated

I just used drizzled and a few things showed up but not much help yet I forgot to add it is about 6" in diameter

Further digging, I found one thing that attributed it to Hazel Atlas but there are other similar items listed as such that don't look like mine

    Opinions please

Flower arranging bowl? Does it have signs of having had a lid? I've seen covered candy dishes with those feet, but with no lid it may have held a "frog" for ikebana.

I'm really not good at glass but I do not believe it had a lid I think I feel rough mold lines and I also think the one that says it is atlas glass might be wrong All of the other examples are drizzled way differently

I'm not positive, but I believe Hazel Atlas produced true black glass rather than amethyst glass, so I'd say not Hazel Altas. Also, is the white paint or glass?

I just looked in TAGF's book on Hazel Atlas, they made Black glass rather than "black" amethyst glass. Their amethyst was purple.

TAGF speculates in his book that the string or drizzle treatment was something done by a decorator rather than by HA
