Copeland Spode Decanter Coronation King George V But wait a minute

    Thrift find the other day. i was looking it up online and realized the difference in the top compared to all the others. Someone has replaced the crown top with a rhinestone top.

    I think yours looks much more appropriate. ;)

    The other one looks like the top is a tad too large. Does yours have a cork stopper?

    Yes the stopper is cork with the crown stuck on it.

    I've seen a dozen or so since i started searching. Everyone with a lid has that same one so far.

    I also can't find a date for this bottle Except the Coronation date but it can't be that old?

    Yeah. I went looking too. One even had the stopper out and the width of the cork was pretty narrow, giving the top a bit of distance from the neck.

    Why do you think it can't be from circa 1911?

    Someone has added the crown: that's a typical 1950s ish costume setting.

    And yes, the bottle itself is 1911.

    Thanks all. I thought the bottle was original, but wasn't sure. As Susan said it does look better with the Costume jewelry crown addition. We will see how well it sells.
