Something good or just tat? Pill Box

The cameo is chipped or rough round the edge so might reveal something if one is knowledgeable. Writing on the edge of the cameo (looks like it is moulded - bad sign). Something written on edge of lid- numerals, and words directly below on the edge of the case (A very bit small, best I can do). Not my photographs.

Your wisdom please. I'm pondering on whether it would be a good buy. Thanks for your help.

Looks like a moulded resin plastic type top and base metal box made perhaps in the last 40 years or so, but wait for other opinions. Sorry the pics are blurry, my screenshots have to be reduced and this just happens.

Certainly looks like the same cameo; but it doesn't have any writing on the edge. My cameo has chipped rough edges, which I hope somebody can interpret in respect of stone, glass or resin. It is only going for resin prices, the Ebay one is very expensive by comparison.

 

60s or 70s, probably a plastic top. Those boxes were often sold in Italy as tourist bits. I'd pass.

 

The cameo is resin, chipped resin. The whole piece looks inexpensively made to me & the price for the green one is unrealistic. I would not advise buying this.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't pay 25 cents at a yard/jumble sale. It's costume and damaged and not signed. If you like it and are going to use it, go ahead and buy it if it's not dear. If they want money, fuggedit.

 

Another vote for skipping the purchase.
