    This is the WWI Naval hospital which the King visited.
    My Dad said they put many plants in the communal wards because they believed it created better air, especially for those who had been gassed.

    All girls University photo, don`t know who or where but I have an Oxford Uni certificate from 1892.
    But this looks more like the roaring 20`s to me.

    Edit, found the certificate, she was born in 1892, she graduated in 1909 so this pic was probably around then.

    This is the flight brochure from 1934, Dar Salaam, Tanzania to London with refueling stop overs.
    Lots of pulley`s and stuff in the cockpit.

    Your "all girls" university photograph is certainly from the 1920s, evidenced by the shorter skirts, bobbed hair. One of the young women (in front row) even has a Louise Brooks cut (later to be re-interpreted by Vidal Sassoon in the 1960s.)

    Davey, They are ALL NEAT images, BUT, I LOVE what it says on that Flight Brochure...."Four Engines for Security"....and look at that 'mini-windshield wiper!!!!! Would you mind if I snag that one image for the fun of it???

    Yup - it's pretty disconcerting to be looking cheerfully along the row of faces and then, WHAT'S THAT? Oh, great, surprised me again!

    Davey, they were right about the plants, and since the didn't have good (if any) air filters or scrubbers they were doing the best thing the could.

    Hi,
    When I first started working in the hospital. The nurses always placed the plants people gave patients out in the hallway at night. They said that the plants used up the oxygen at night and the patients needed all the oxygen they could get.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
