What kind of lights are these?

This makes sense: this set came from an estate of a Vietnam War vet so I suspect he brought them to the States when he returned home. In which case it's much more likely that he bought them in Hong Kong or South Vietnam than China.

 

There you go! I suspect HK is the much more likely. South Vietnam was under French control till the fifties and France did use bayonet bulbs for a while, but I think that was too far back. HK was an R&R destination.
