So 1 difference I noticed in yours and Stolzle is the amount of decoration. Yours has only 2, whereas most of the Stolzle have 4.

It’s like I’m arguing with myself! :hilarious:

Good eye I need help! I had seen that one and didn't even notice that. And it does look like pewter. Thanks

Looks like it's a harder metal than pewter, could it be plated something or other that the plating has corroded on? Not Loetz for sure BTW

edit: maybe it's the photos that make it look non-pewter - if it is soft pewter it should be easy to bend and dent and this looks untouched..
I think your mounts are plated tin, (like "biscuit tin", steel:blackeye:) with worn plating.

I remember watching Antiques Roadshow, they were appraising a vase marked Loetz. The appriser said they often didn't mark their glass so a Loetz mark is often suspect.

    Quote from below page:
Bear in mind that Loetz did not sign most of its art nouveau glass. This applies especially to the simpler and more common decors, but even rare and expensive pieces may have no identifying marking whatsoever.

https://www.loetz.com/featured-arti... Loetz, have no identifying marking whatsoever.

Certainly not by Loetz, but continental/Austrian. The lack of a pontil mark and having looked at the bases of Your vases, they were both mould-blown using a green batch of glass and then sprayed with metallic-salts to produce the iridescent surface before the glass had cooled. The metal mounts were added out of house at time of manufacture, but not by the glass-working factory... Vases of this type will display sharp/unpolished top edge rims to them. Polishing the rims is both costly & time consuming. Only by attaching a pontil rod to the base of the vase could the tops be worked on by the glass blower to leave a smooth fire-polished edge, however as the majority of these vase-types had metal mounts added to them there wasn't the need to worry about the rough top-edges left by the manufacturing process.
