African figures...male and female

    Here are two figures...bought in South African....but i guess they could be form just about anywhere in Africa.
    The female is of a light weight wood...355gr and measures 37cm high
    Hazard a guess at mid 20thc as he has nails as eyes.
    The female is a lot older and weighs 684gr ad height ..41cm / 16in with a piece of string as a neck piece holding a shell.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Both figures are in styles characteristic of groups in the region of inland West Africa - Mali and Burkina Faso. Based on the shape of his head, nose, and bent arms, the male figure may be Dogon. The face of the female figure is not typical Dogon, but may be Lobi / Mossi.
