Five prong crown over "K" mark???

Got these two figurines with a five prong crown over the letter K mark and I can't find a reference for the maker. Does anyone know this mark?

Figured, since this is not my main field, although I am sometimes led into it, that it might be a very well known reference most serious collectors/dealers are familiar with, but tossed it out there, just in case.

 

You don't happen to have one on cameos???

 

Duffield Osborne's 'Engraved Gems' is a frequently cited source. This page also has links for C.W. King's books, another authority (& rival) from the out of copyright era. Since engraved gems have been made for more than 2 millennia, it's a big field. I do not recommend the current buyers' guides. Because my primary interest is the subjects on cameos, I use the Beazley Archive extensively.

Edit: Came across this book by Archibald Billing fairly recently. Despite the formal title, it is very readable & chatty. He goes in depth on how engraved gems are made. I love him because, unlike most other scholars in the field, he does not ignore/dismiss cameos cut in shell. Also because he pays more attention to cameos than to intaglios.

There are some figurines with a similar crown k mark that also say King's Italy. Don't know if it's your factory or not.

Is it just me, or do the bare feet on these Italian figurines all have the same grubby look?

 

Thanks for that SIS. I think I'll refer to them as "mid to late last century Capodimonte - possibly "King's Italy" manufacturer". I don't think I can get any closer than that.

I didn't have any luck either. There were just too many Italian companies and others using a similar mark. Sorry.

 

I haven't found the marking either. Thank you all for doing so much research.
