Hi all. Picked this pretty little thing up though Id long swore off Asian porcelains cause I dont know diddly ! However,it was small and so well done I thought why not. Its 4 inches high with the lid on,2 1/2 wide, and I tried to identify the marks on gothburg but I can truthfully say Ive never been able to! It sure looks hand painted to me,beautifully done. Any input is always appreciated.

It is cute, I can see why you bought it.
You're right, it is hand panted. It was made in Canton, coastal China. This style was often intended for the Peranakan (Straits Chinese) market, which means it is collectible, though not valuable.

@Shangas , just so you know I didn't forget you.:)

It does read as "Cantonese Famille rose".
If it reads as "Chinese Cantonese Famille rose". It reads four words and shows below as contemporary.

It's pretty, but I don't see more than a passing resemblance to Peranakan porcelain. In my experience, that was generally much more flamboyant.
