Hello Board Buddies - sometimes I buy things just because they are too strange to pass up. The pitcher and cordial glass set is one such purchase. The pitcher stands 9 3/4" tall and is very heavy. The cordials (or wines) stand 4 1/4" tall. My first inclination was that these are Mexican glass. Then I saw the etchings. Now I have no idea what I'm looking at. Any help would be most appreciated.

I don't have a clue, Don, but had I seen those glasses, I wouldn't have been able to pass them up, either! (Like I need even ONE more drinking glass in this house!) I LOVE those chicks & chickens!

Thanks so much! It's such a fun little set. BTW I loved your kitty Stoli. He looks like he has wool instead of fur!

Stoli looks like another shedmeister. The glasses look Mexican, best guess.

Stoli thanks you! He's Russian (Russian Blue) so he has a very thick coat!

As a guess, the "chickens" represent "roosters" aka "cocks". Cocks are popular decor for "cocktail" glasses.

In this case, the glasses really are the cocks' tails.
