Can anyone tell me what this drinking glass is? In the flesh, it's a striking fluorescent green colour that the photos don't really do justice to. There are no mold marks, and the glass appears to have been cut around the rim, so I don't believe it was machine-made. I've been told that it's very old but my research attempts have led me nowhere and so I'd appreciate any guidance that the board members may be kind enough to provide!

    Mid 1800s European.
    Enamel painted tumbler.

Might be German. Again a guess

Coudersport made a panel optic tumbler with similar enameled décor with a water set c1900; Northwood also made similar panel optic tumblers.

You can through Fenton Glass into the fray. They made water sets like that. Also Northwood and Dugan-Diamond glass co. too.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies! You've given me some great ideas for further research. Will be sure to let you know if I positively identify the glass.

Your tumbler is 1900ish, give or take ten years. The value is nominal...$5.00 to $10.00. Likely closer to five. Knowing the maker will not increase value. It's not worth your time to research it. Enjoy it for what it is.

Thank you for your reply, Brazos, but I started this thread simply to learn about this glass, and not because I thought knowing the maker would increase its value. I didn’t even ask about value, and have no intention of selling the glass. For this reason, I do believe it’s worth my time to research it.

There must be a million questions that won't get an answer, and a million items where the maker doesn't matter, but it doesn't hurt to ask and always nice to know. All you can do is hope for the best.

Well, You requested information on your tumbler. Value is important information. What you choose to do with that info is up to you.

The gentleman that wrote the book on tumblers is a member of this board. Perhaps, he will see this and add to the discussion.
