Help with dating and identifying this piece

    anything would be helpful, I really don't know where to start with this.

    I don't know much about Chinese porcelain but I believe it's fairly recent. If you search "blue and white Chinese carp bowl" (or fish bowl) you'll see other examples. In Chinatown in New York it's not uncommon to see these bowls with large carp inside. I always felt bad for the poor things as there was no room to swim around but I really don't know what makes a carp happy so kept my opinion to myself. Someone else here may be able to help you with mark.

    "Great Qing Qianlong" planter, "Qianlong"Reign mark, but was made after 1980s

    Hi,
    In Chinatown in NY you used to see thousands of larger pots like these. They were hand done shipping containers and thrown away when empty. I bought several and put a glass lid on them and used them for plant stands and such. I saw one that really got my attention. The shop keeper looked at me when I offered 25 dollars for it. He dumped out the contents into a box and put the money in his pocket. He thought I was crazy.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
