G'day everyone,

Figured I'd better do the right thing and introduce myself.

I'm a 30something aussie guy looking to grow my knowledge when it comes to antiques and older things.

I've always had a bit of a fascination for old stuff, but never thought I'd find myself fancying antique furniture and the like.... That seems to be changing as I get older, and has definitely snowballed since my partner and I purchased and started restoring an early 1900s cottage.

I've started restoring, or at least de-bastardising a couple of older pieces of furniture in my spare time. I also like metal detecting and researching local history and traditional building techniques.

I'm looking forward to exploring the forum, and hopefully getting to know some of you,
