antique sterling locket pendant

    Does anyone know what this locket pendant has in it ? Anybody also know why this would have been made for ?

    Placer silver, maybe? Electroform silver?

    Where the arrow is pointing is probably a tiny screw head.

    These are sold by jewelers to display and wear: gold flakes, a coin, or what ever else in. In your case, it looks like silver.
    Earlier ones were made of glass.
