Silver colored chopsticks

I tested these with 18K acid, but they don't test as silver.
They are not at all attracted to a very strong magnet, so I have no idea what they could be made of.
Any ideas?

 

Nickel silver

60% copper, 20% nickel, 20% zinc

or thereabouts

Makes great sticks for the bun on your head. I have several pairs in black and gold (lacquer and 14Kt gold) and my favorite in red lacquer with alabone.

Nah - we have, and use, plain old wooden ones.

 

I use the bamboo ones.......less splinters..

 

Ours are bamboo. Had them for many a year.

 

I like the bamboo, but I also have wood, older plastic, and lacquered fancy ones....even a pair of ivory ones in an old asian trousse.

 

Ours are wood or plastic. We have a few lacquer sets. And some made of porcelain.

I hate metal chopsticks (steel, mostly). Too damn smooth to eat with. Food keeps sliding off.

It is a dream of mine, to one day own a pair of ivory chopsticks. My grandfather had a pair, and they were lost to history. They were presented to him in appreciation of his dedication to the local Chinese clan-association for which he worked, in Malaya back in the 1930s, 40s, 50s etc.
