Man & Woman Porcelain lace figure

I wonder if this piece is signed Charles Houston, the signature seems to be done very well. Could this be the maker or company ? Also is the last name Houston ?

I saw some online 1950s reference for Charles Houston as a mold supplier from Fresno California. Not figurines though, cufflinks, jewellery, etc

Well, someone did. Either a hobbyist or perhaps a small studio who bought the molds and decorated them for resale. It's even possible the jeweler commissioned them. Jewelry stores used to carry little gift items in addition to the usual jewelry lines. The local jeweler here used to carry some of the Giuseppe Armani, Swarovski, and Harmony Kingdom figurines until about fifteen or twenty years ago. Frankly I think it helped make the jewelry store more interesting but I guess the figurines couldn't pull their weight in sales. I really miss seeing these items. Now I'd have to go to Chicago to find anything of the same caliber. The local Macy's used to carry some Waterford but they folded just a couple of weeks ago so there isn't even any quality glass around here anymore.

It isn't terribly difficult to apply lace to a figurine but it does take a little practice. I can't really see the lace well enough to tell how good the application is but it doesn't look terribly well organized.
