Hello everyone. I'm not sure about this figure, maybe I'm wrong,height-25cm=9''8inch.Materials: bronze, verdigris patina.Thank you all of yo u.
Try googling "Sardinian Bronze figure" but bear in mind the Sardinian tourist market has been producing these for a long time. I have no opinion on the age of your piece but it doesn't look blatantly new to me.
Thank you very much! I,m gonna keep looking....some thing next to legs, .. do you have some idea what is it?
Color on bronze looks like pink and yellow ,next to leg looks to me as fish tail or .....,hard to say...still do not no what is it ?As you said ,I was looking made "Sardinian Bronze figure"but looks different and more of them on wooden stand. Thank you.
I agree, the style is not Sardinian/Nuraghe. Maybe Archaic Greek? @2manybooks , do you have an idea? If you find the original, there could be an explanation of what the fish tail thing is.
It does look like a fish at his feet. So I would assume it is meant to be Poseidon, but with a truncated trident (easier to cast). The elongated style is similar to figurines from the Greek "geometric" period: "Warrior statuette wearing a helmet of Corinthian type, from the decoration of the handle of a tripod cauldron. About 700 BC. National Archaeological Museum of Athens" https://www.greek-thesaurus.gr/geometric-period-figurines-photo-gallery.html I have found a number of examples of similar statues that claim to be copies of museum artifacts, but not one exactly like yours: https://www.ebay.com/str/iconsgr?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 (This ebay store offers other gods as well.)
That is ancient Greek bronze sculpture '' small bronze Apollo ''.Similar to my sculpture.Thank you guys.
