I wonder what this is and who made it, only has a number 131 on base that I can see.
Any ideas on this piece ?

    Thank You 001.JPG 002.JPG 004.JPG

Beautiful. I'm with komo, the style is Art Nouveau. Let's hope it is Art Nouveau period as well.

Part of a clock garniture maybe? I don't know that it has a purpose other than as an "oh pretty". It does that quite well.

I'd put a tealite candle in it and enjoy the ambiance.

Very pretty, can we see a pic looking down into it? How is that bowl attached? Knee jerk reaction is a reproduction, but Im often wrong.

I too want to see some pics inside and of the shade. Looks like a stretch glass shade. Think this has some honest age but could be wrong. Gilt bronze?

From the looks of it...I think it's a candlestick/holder? Very pretty - I'm with the others who aren't sure if it's art nouveau(looks old to me but I've guessed wrong too many times to count) or a reproduction in art nouveau style. Might this be a maker's mark? Can you get a closer up picture of this spot?

And if one cat didn't kill it, the next one in line would take a crack or a paw at it?

My vote is older, but could be wrong. I don't think a new piece would have a number on the base like that. Also the glass looks really well done. What a great design.

It's not a makers mark, just a dirt spot.
