12" modernist looking glass vase or candle holder --few questions

    Unsigned, measures 12" high. Base has a cut pontil.
    Any ideas on maker for this piece?

    What do you call the thin glass applied sections? Pretty sure there is a word for this (threaded?) ...drawing a blank.

    Do you think vase? Candle holder?

    Just feel that it is a vase not a candle holder too hard to clean.
