Sorry for the crummy photos - they're all I managed to get this morning.

I've been trying to figure out who may have made this vase. The crisscrossed strands of glaze are 3D.

    Can anyone help?

Can't help but think that applying that decoration would be very tedious work.

It's nice that the TV lamp has the makers label. I'm usually a little wary of attributions without support.

Msgood2shoe makes an interesting point. Her wariness is well founded. Your vase was not made by Fratelli Fanciullacci (The Fanciullacci Brothers). All you have done was perpetuated the misattribution made earlier by someone else for a simliar vase. If the overlapping double “F” is missing then it almost certainly was not made by that firm. I cannot see any markings that will allow for identification of the vase’s maker. The technique used to decorate your vase, which looks as if the glaze was squeezed through a icing tube used for decorating cake, was copied from the style known in Japan as Moriage. This form of decoration was made popular in the mid 1950’s by Deruta-based ceramics artist Serafino Volpi. I believe that this period was when your vase was made.

So the label on the T.V. lamp is for a different FF?

I’m sorry but I don’t see a Rosenthal-Netter label on that TV lamp, just the Fanciullacci logo. On Bookahtoo’s vase I see the Rosenthal Netter label but not the FF mark. There is no connection to each other.

Walter - I'm sorry - I don't have a label on mine. Do you mean it has a Rosenthal-Netter mark?

No, that answer does not compute.

Your vase does not have a Rosenthal label nor an FF mark. Therefore it cannot be attributed to either company. The maker remains unknown.
