Cold Painted Bronzes

These two pieces are screaming Austrian cold painted bronze and definitely Franz Bergman or his style. I found an identical one that sold at auction as Bergman but made only a reference to a “circular mark”. I am aware of only two Bergman marks, “ Nam Greb” and the more common “B” inside an amphora. I am unable to find either of these marks on the bronzes.

Are these Bergman bronzes or were Nicholson Auctioneers jumping to a conclusion without revealing any compelling evidence?

after I had a riot with Eastbourne auctions - a criminal of the first order - I am sure there are plenty of auction houses at the southcoast and around London that mix in such stuff with the real items.

Always had a laugh over the auctioneer's coat of arms's motto "Honesty and Integrity"

 

I wouldn't say everywhere. in England I mostly buy near Oxford - very nice chap that even has a € account on the continent and nice arts & crafts stuff. I stopped buying in the Netherlands and Italy. very cautious when it comes to Spanish auction houses, better hands-on inspection before bidding. same for Brittany.
China etc. is being forgiven, because cheating is wisdom...

 

They are 100% not fakes, they are modern original Austrian bronze made in the last 20 to 30 years by Fritz Bermann they sell on Esty. The round gold mark is their company stamp.

 

LOL!..... Modern original (?) blatant rip-offs of authentic antique Bergmann bronzes.
