I was hoping someone could shove me in the right direction with this piece. It was sold as c.1925 d/t the markings on the bottom. I got it very cheap so I thought I would take a chance.

It is 7 5/8" across & is 1/2" to the side edge. It is simply marked "Made in China" on the bottom with an impressed mark.

I also got a small handled tray that I posted separately for help.:happy:

It likely dates from the Ka-Ching Dynasty.

I am confused by your reply. Give what a try? Also why would you cover pewter with brass or brass coloring?

guess I largely overlooked that aspect of the gold and got confused myself. Sorry!

I’m taking a big, wild guess that, looking at the name, English may not be this member’s primary language and maybe some allowance should be made. I couldn’t find where member lives.

I apologize if I have offended you in anyway as this was never my intention. I just did not understand the reference to pewter. Since I know very little about Chinese brass maybe you knew something that I did not.

One thing I did not include in my original postings is that I did check out a magnet on both pieces & neither was at all attracted.

Hi, no offense taken at all. I genuinely thought I overlooked things because there was this once when I was researching on pewter plates, someone adviced me that there are chances that a very small amount of them which were covered in gold. Well, I am a novice anyway so I thought that piece of info might help. One thing I knew for sure that it is Chinese which is quite apparent to all I guess.

Goodness, is my English that bad? I was sleepy while I posting that and I didn't leave a clear explanation. Btw, English is my primary language :)
