Ceramic Pill Box ID Question. Vincennes? Limoges

Hello everybody!

I am trying to figure out what a ceramic pill box I have is. It appears to be Limoges but the only markings on it seem to indicate that it is pre-1753 Vincennes or Sevres. I find that a dubious proposition.

I am hoping that someone here can help me figure this pill box out. Here are a couple pictures:

You know the Sevres mark has been widely imitated, right? It's most likely Asian.

So, how/where does one go/find to authenticate????

I think Samson might be the manufacturer. They were/are a French company that did a lot of pieces with fake Serves and Vincennes marks - maybe Meissen too if I remember correctly. Some of their stuff is very pretty. The Limoges group on Facebook might be able to authenticate. Some of those folks really know their stuff.

The hardware on this box looks distinctly 20th century, probably very late 20th. I'd say it's one of the better Asian ones too.

 

Thank you. And I was hoping here might be the place since I couldn't find anything solid in my searches.

 

But of course. That is why I am here. I would hate to dispose of it only to find out later that it was something special, though.

A reproduction, JMHO, but whether Asian or European, I don’t know. Pretty.
