Antique ? Pottery Jar

    Hi,
    It looks like some Chinese storage jar that stuff was shipped in. I remember seeing them in Chinese grocery stores in Chinatown in Manhattan.

    I thought Chinese as well,and I also love the snakeskin effect!

    hmm.... there's no rim nor a little bit inner curved in the bottom , I don't think it's chinese.

    Maybe not Chinese, but possibly another Southeast Asian country of origin.

    Most of these are Malaysian. I have several for plants, mine are Malaysian.
    I even line them with fabric to be used as keris stands.:happy:

    Hi,
    I should have known that other Asian countries lived in Chinatown also. Being from the rural country side with really no knowledge of Asian history I thought all of these kinds of items were from different parts of China. I should remain quiet and learn not to be such an idiot.

    No, you are not... Probably I am wrong, I just didn't see a Chinese Jar like this before. But it is very common if I make some mistake (Actually I always make mistakes when id antiques. :hilarious::hilarious:)
