Art Nouveau in terms of its style. Perhaps an interpretation of Medusa?

Art Nouveau/Jugendstil artists loved wildly flowing tresses. Bohemians were no exception, although in the case of Dressler it is slightly more constrained. You can see the Secessionist influence in this piece, btw.

the problem is the smaller secondary sign. I know Dressler. could it be a mark from the company that made the metal ?

Beautiful piece Fid:) I don't know Dressler so not sure if this will help, but I found another piece with the same mark. I'm not sure if the 4 blue supports on this piece are metal or not, if they are, then maybe it is the metal makers mark?

good links, thank you both. it helps excluding the metal trail.
I see small differences between the siggies, so it could be individual designer marks. I will have to look for a list of artists and will have to see in the Neuwirth book if I find something.

Neuwirth shows a similar small siggy but not the same and mentions that it could be Privatbesitz; perhaps a well to do collector that had an own private property mark ? a hard one, pfoooo. but I don't go for the one shown because there's a piece of the metal missing.

unmarked but riessner stellmacher & kessel. I'm still amazed about the precision of the field poppy.
