This is a mystery. The cup is very Chinese in style. The handle and brown rim are very like late 18th century pieces and the famille rose decoration is likewise. The painting is very fine.

I have trawled through hundreds of photos and have found just one other example with this shape and that was an Armorial export cup c1760.

The cup looks almost too good to be true to be old but all the pointers are that it is. The potting is thick and a torch only just penetrates and shines through.

    Views welcome as always.

I would not describe the floral painting as fine or even typically Chinese, although you omitted the front view cartouche, perhaps that shows more care/skill? Could you post a link of an image of the known 1760's piece as I haven't seen a Chinese coffee can handle made like that before, but happy to be wrong

Oops. Missed that pic. Apologies. Finding the Armorial means tracking back back but I’ll try and find it. The front cartouche is fine in my opinion for this type of decoration. F2139951-8DD0-44EC-BD6C-40D1853E761E.jpeg

I've seen Royal Crown Derby Georgian era coffee cups with a similar grooved handle. It is unusual.
