Need help identifying old chair, I think

    I never even thought of that and honestly didn’t even think that was a thing. Thank you.
    There are 2 big metal rings attached to the back of the chair as well. And it is incredibly heavy. It’s got to be over 100lbs

    The chair was bought at a thrift store in Boca Raton Florida. It was an impulse buy. Bought about 6-7 years ago. I’m not trying to sell it or make money or anything. We are moving it and I just thought to myself, “ I wonder what this is.” And was convinced i would be able to figure it out online rather quickly. After googling for a few hours and not finding anything, I found this forum.

    Any false bottom , with silver bars stuck in there ???

    My initial reaction would be Mexico but would expect it to be pine. Wood looks to be a tropical hardwood so maybe Southeast Asia or India. Suppose it could be from the Caribbean based on where found. Metal initials tag means nothing to me.

    I'd call it a recent Indian interpretation of an older form.
