What kind of taxidermy bird is this ?

    Hi, I bought a butlers shelf from an online auction, everthing on it was included in the sale.this piece was included.I know nothing about birds or taxidermy..Anybody know what kind of bird this is?..and perhaps a time period?...Dimensions.bird.3.5" L x 1.5 w

    Hi Judy,
    This was never a real bird. It is a sweet little bird made up of feathers from different birds. The speckled feathers on its back look like guinea fowl feathers, the golden brown feathers on its belly could be pheasant.

    Hi, Judy, and welcome!

    I'm going to agree with AJ here: that was never a "real" bird...

    I have one very similar, but an owl, from the early 1990's. It was made as an ornament and used in a floral arrangement someone sent me. Nowadays, I stick it up on a high branch in my Christmas tree.
