Featured Please help settle a discussion- Tie back or dagger thingy

I think this is a curtain tie back, my OH thinks it’s one of the stringy thingies on a dagger?
Or something else altogether?
The string is 24” long and the loop is around 3”.

It's a Royal mouse harness.
