Now you see why I am confused. I was focused on trying to find information related to the NEZ mark. I took no note of the materials description by the seller. Often it is kitchen sink. I appreciate your help. I spotted these amongst several dozen earrings at the resale shop. I am trying to improve my eye. They appear to be handmade and perhaps a one off by a young artist whose was finding their way. That's my fantasy now.

I do think your earrings are NA
Research never hurts but I think you’re overworking these. They’re very nice, handmade and most likely NA but without a specific first name IMO you shouldn’t give them tribal affiliation which in this case IMO won’t hurt you as they don’t look NA.Rethinking since I know you want to attract an NA collector just call them “Southwestern Modernist Sterling Silver Jasper Clip Earrings Signed Nez” and you’ve covered all bases.

@reader Thanks for this idea! I heard back from Garland with some excellent information.

"Thanks for reaching out. As long as we've ever bought from Dee Nez, she has always stamped her full name "Dee Nez" as her hallmark. I've attached a photo of her hallmark for your reference.
Unfortunately, Nez is one of the most common Navajo surnames which makes identifying your artist more difficult. There's probably at least 30-40 Navajo silversmiths whose last name is Nez. Some common ones that stamped a block "NEZ" as their hallmark include Al Nez, Julian Nez, Kee Nez, Lucy Nez, & Sidney Nez. You could search around the internet for those names and see if anything looks similar to your earrings. The stones in your earrings are pretty unusual, so that might be something to look into.
Sorry I can't be of more help, best of luck to you,
    Michael"

I love the research. I get a fixed idea in my mind what something should be and the research shows me how wrong I can be. :)

I understand and should never discourage anyone from research. Apologies.
